Computer sales fell 20.1% to 62.7 million last quarter, IDC says

Global computer sales fell to 62.7 million in the third quarter of 2026, down 20.1% from last year and 9.1% from the previous three months, according to research firm IDC. Parts shortages and higher prices are the cause, with stores afraid of being stuck with unsold machines shoppers cannot afford.
