Pixel Watch Emergency Help Will Soon Need a Paid Phone Plan

Google will stop free Safety Signal access on cellular Pixel Watch 2 and 3 after Dec. 12. Until now, the watches could call for help, detect falls and share safety status using their own mobile connection, with no phone nearby and no monthly phone-company fee. After that, owners will need a paid monthly plan for those features to work alone.
