Powerful Earthquakes Kill At Least 32 in Venezuela

Two massive earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24 near the city of Morón, killing at least 32 people and injuring about 700. Buildings collapsed across the region. The first quake was stronger and hit from shallow underground, making the shaking worse at the surface. This area sits on an unstable geological zone that caused Venezuela's worst earthquake in 1967.
