Two 7.3–7.5 Magnitude Earthquakes Strike Venezuela, Killing at Least 32

Twin earthquakes centered near Morón in Carabobo state on June 24 killed at least 32 people and injured roughly 700, with dozens of buildings collapsed. The first event, magnitude 7.5 according to USGS, struck at shallow depth—10 km—amplifying ground motion damage. The second measured 7.3–7.4. Both originated along the Southern Caribbean Plate boundary, a zone that produced Venezuela's deadliest modern earthquake in 1967.
