World Health Agency Asks Russia About Second Sick Irkutsk Lab Worker

WHO leader Tedros has asked Moscow to explain reports of a second worker at Irkutsk’s plague lab — a center studying a severe infection — with lung illness of unknown cause, citing two news reports, one Russian. WHO says it does not know what killed a 28-year-old worker and cannot judge the danger. Russia says no plague cases in Irkutsk.
