U.S. Phone Regulator to Vote on Selling Airwaves for Better Coverage
The Federal Communications Commission will vote Oct. 29 on whether to move ahead with selling 25 MHz of radio airwaves, at 1675-1695 MHz and 2020-2025 MHz, for normal cell towers, direct satellite-to-phone links, or a mix. Approval only starts further work on operating rules and layout, not the final sale.
