Nicole McKee takes over as ACT's number two

ACT has named Nicole McKee, a minister in the justice area, as its new deputy leader. She replaces Brooke van Velden, who said on 28 June 2026 she will leave Parliament at the November election to work in the private sector. McKee will hold an active minister's job while helping lead the party into the election.
