World's biggest aluminium-ingredient plant halves output

Hydro halved production at its Alunorte plant in Brazil in August 2026, the company said. Supplier CELBA, owned by New Fortress Group, warned it could not deliver enough natural gas, the fuel the plant runs on. Hydro says the cost is still unknown. Alunorte is the world's largest maker of alumina, the lower-pollution powder Hydro turns into aluminium.
