OpenAI to Add Hidden Signals to AI Writing in Europe

OpenAI said Oct. 5, 2026 it will put a hidden signal in ChatGPT and Codex text in the EU to follow a European AI law. Like invisible ink, it guides word choices and stays after copy-paste. It arrives over the coming weeks. App builders around the world can turn it on, but it stays off worldwide by default.
