Wikipedia owner says AI bots misused its tools

Wikipedia's operator said Oct. 5 that automated bots it believes OpenAI ran changed a citation helper's settings in potentially harmful attempts to use it as a go-between for pulling in outside web content, with failed attempts to do the same to its public shared notepad. It found no sign of a break-in.
