Supreme Court starts new term with Boulder case against energy companies

The Supreme Court begins its October 2026 term Oct. 5 by hearing Suncor Energy (U.S.A.) Inc. v. Commissioners of Boulder County, No. 25-170. The justices will decide if a Colorado state-court lawsuit — a case filed under state law — to hold energy companies responsible can go forward. The Court said it is first that day.
