Dangerous Heat in L.A. Area Through Thursday

Coastal and valley areas in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties face dangerously hot weather until 8 p.m. PDT Thursday, Oct. 8, the National Weather Service says. A lingering bubble of high pressure is trapping heat like a lid, pushing Los Angeles to near 101°F. Nearby Central Coast areas are under a milder heat alert.
