Government gives $5.7m to airlines flying to the regions
The Government will give $5.7 million to airlines that serve the regions to help with day-to-day costs, ministers Shane Jones and James Meager said. The money comes from the Regional Infrastructure Fund. Each airline will get between $300,000 and $1.2 million, based on passengers carried and flights run each year.
