Sudan Army Says Rival Fighters Must Leave Cities for Peace

Sudan's army said July 9 it will accept an American peace plan only if rival fighters, the Rapid Support Forces, fully leave cities. The American draft, described in July, asked for smaller pullbacks centered on North Darfur and North Kordofan. The war has spread to 13 of Sudan's 18 states and forced 14 million people from their homes.
