UK government borrowing costs reached 5.049% in August
UK government 10-year borrowing costs reached 5.049%, an 11-day high, WSJ reported Aug. 11. Think of yield as the interest rate the government must pay to borrow. When that rises, mortgages and loans can get pricier. US costs rose to 4.735% too, per Tradeweb via WSJ. I see shared inflation worry, not UK-only trouble.
