New York Governor Brings In Outside Lawyer for Cornell Rape Case

New York Governor Kathy Hochul on Oct. 1 asked the state's top lawyer, Letitia James, to take over review of the reported October 2024 group rape at Cornell. James can file criminal charges and show evidence to regular citizens, called a grand jury. Hochul said trust was damaged because local prosecutors declined charges and Cornell's own review was questioned.
