France’s prime minister, Sébastien Lecornu, met Oct. 1 in crisis talks and canceled ministers’ trips as high-schoolers blocking schools spread across France. They cite too few teachers, packed classes and crumbling buildings. Blockades that began last week now hit hundreds of schools, with universities joining Oct. 1.
