Amex says its cards work in more shops worldwide

American Express says its cards are now accepted at over 190 million shops and other sellers around the world, Reuters reported September 28. That means fewer times your Amex won't work, which helps travel spending and Amex's income from fees. I'm doubtful this alone catches Visa and Mastercard without knowing sellers' costs.
