Burnham plan: smaller pension rises to pay for care

Andy Burnham said state pension rises would be smaller from 2030. The yearly increase, like a pay rise now linked to three measures, would follow inflation or 2.5%. Earnings would be factored in later. The Spectator reported the plan on 30 September. He said the money saved would help pay for a promised national care service at the next election.
