Gold fell 2.1% this week as interest rates stay high
Gold lost about 2.1% this week, Reuters reported, though U.S. gold prices for later delivery rose 0.5% to $4,321.20. The Federal Reserve, America's central bank, signaled rates will stay higher for longer. That keeps savings payouts up, but hurts gold because unlike cash in the bank, gold pays no interest.
