Famous Caribbean singer Mighty Sparrow dies at 91

Slinger Francisco, the singer called Mighty Sparrow, the 'calypso king of the world,' died in New York on 27 September 2026 at 91. His family says he was with family after a short illness. Born in Grenada, he moved to Trinidad and Tobago in 1937 and made hundreds of story-telling songs over sixty years.
