Government may help save Moana Pasifika rugby team

Winston Peters, the Foreign Minister, said on 23 June the government has not given up on saving Moana Pasifika, a professional rugby team in trouble. A rescue group wants to move the team's base to Samoa, Tonga and Fiji instead of closing it down. Peters hinted in May that help was coming. Whether the government will fund this plan is still unclear.
