Canada approves first new reactor design for Ontario power plant

Canada's nuclear safety regulator gave Ontario Power Generation permission on April 4 to build a new type of reactor at the Darlington plant. The reactor is smaller and newer than traditional nuclear plants. When built, it will be the first of its kind operating anywhere in the world.
