Sailing Robot Sets Off Around Antarctica

A seven-metre sailing robot, Saildrone Explorer SD-1092, left Hobart to sail all the way around Antarctica, a 22,000km journey of seven to nine months. Using wind and sun for power and guided by satellite, it will test water and air for carbon dioxide to show how much pollution the Southern Ocean soaks up.
