Britain Joins Ocean Project to Better Predict Bad Weather

Britain will join OceanEye, an EU-led project that watches the oceans to better predict severe weather.

Environment Secretary Angela Eagle will announce it at the UN building in New York on 23 September 2026 with Ursula von der Leyen and Canada's Mark Carney. Britain will share extra data from its Met Office weather team with the EU and Canada.
