Britain to Join EU-Led OceanEye Ocean Monitoring Programme

Britain is to join the EU-led OceanEye programme to improve forecasting of extreme weather and climate events. Environment Secretary Angela Eagle is to announce the move at UN headquarters in New York on 23 September 2026 alongside Ursula von der Leyen and Canada's Mark Carney. Britain will share more Met Office data with the EU and Canada.
