Greens want to tax wealth — Labour and National haven't gone there yet

The Green Party proposed on 21 June taxing people's assets — property, shares, bank accounts — if they're worth over $2 million. The tax would be 2.5 percent a year. The Greens also want to raise the amount people can earn tax-free to $10,000 and guarantee a minimum weekly payment of $385. Labour and National have not backed this idea before.
