Ed Davey promises tax cuts for workers

Sir Ed Davey said the Liberal Democrats would fight the next general election on tax cuts for millions of workers. In his party conference speech, he said a Lib Dem government would let people earn £15,000 before paying income tax or National Insurance. He said the 40p tax rate would start at £56,000, costing £17bn and saving 'most taxpayers' £680.
