Labour's new paid training jobs get slow start

Just 160 young adults started Labour's foundation apprenticeships — paid training jobs meant as a first step onto the jobs ladder — between August 2025 and April 2026, official figures show, far below the goal of 30,000 before this parliament ends. Launched in August 2025 for young adults, the plan risks failure on youth unemployment, the Fabian Society warns.
