Big Fire Threatens Tourist Town Villa de Leyva

A forest fire on Cerro San Marcos hill above Villa de Leyva, Boyaca, burned 40 hectares — dozens of soccer fields — of original forest and was still burning Sept. 19. Smoke is visible from town center. Authorities say it threatens the town, which gets more than a million visitors a year.
