Record number of laws passed without usual checks

A record 38 new laws were passed by the 54th Parliament without the usual public checks by small groups of MPs, after being rushed through fast, according to RNZ's The House. In the five earlier Parliaments, most recent first, 29, 18, 16, 11 and 24 laws skipped those checks.
