Two Men Sent by the U.S. Say They Were Beaten and Jailed

Two men sent by the U.S. to Equatorial Guinea were tied up, blindfolded, beaten and pushed down stairs at Hotel Bamy on Sept. 11, witnesses and lawyers told the Guardian. Ahmed Soliman, 31, from Egypt and Samson Birhane, 47, from Eritrea were then put in a Malabo prison. Detainees say it was payback for telling reporters about conditions.
