NASA Finds Big New Crater on the Moon

NASA said a spacecraft circling the Moon, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, found a bowl-shaped dent called McGetchin crater. Reported Sept. 15, 2026, it measures 728 feet wide and 141 feet deep with steep sides, about two football fields across, and is described as the largest recent crater in the solar system.
