Wandsworth tax rise to face legal check
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch told BBC Newsnight her party has asked lawyers to see if an £84m-a-year funding cut for Wandsworth can be challenged. She said the proposed 94% rise in council tax, the local household bill, was 'outrageous', but the council was 'not doing it because they want to'. Ministers said they were updating an 'outdated' system.
