Amazon's Zoox driverless taxis face Nevada limit September 25, 2026
Amazon-owned Zoox's permit from Nevada's Transportation Authority for 100 driverless taxis expires September 25, 2026. Las Vegas, the only city where it charges riders, holds more than 30 of its roughly 100 specially built cars with no steering wheel. Paid rides started in August 2026 under federal safety permission for up to 2,500 cars yearly for two years.
