
NATO boss says UK will keep defence spending promise by 2035
NATO head Mark Rutte told the BBC he is 'absolutely confident' the UK will spend 3.5% of its national income on defence by 2035 — like £3.50 of every £100 earned. He spoke after London talks with Defence Secretary Wes Streeting and Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband. Andy Burnham restated the promise on entering Downing Street.
