New boot camp law for young offenders

Parliament passed a new law on Thursday night after fast-tracking it, RNZ reported. The Oranga Tamariki (Responding to Serious Youth Offending) Amendment Bill lets the court for young people send serious young offenders to military-style boot camps. Minister for Children Karen Chhour said it will be the court's strictest option.
