First punishments for Syria's March 2025 coastal killings

An army court in Aleppo has delivered the first punishments for the March 2025 killing of Alawites, a religious minority, on Syria's coast. Two supporters of the removed former rulers were sentenced to death and life in prison, a former fighter got 20 years, and one person was found not guilty. More charges will test the government's promise of justice.
