Russia blocks only anti-war party from main election ballot

Russia's top court removed Yabloko from the main nationwide ballot for the September 2026 parliament election, 12 days after it was registered. Yabloko, which wants fighting in Ukraine to stop, was in July the only registered party against the war. Some candidates can still run in local races. Critics say the vote will not be free or fair.
