U.S. Says Palestinian Leaders Still Can't Come to Big U.N. Meeting

Palestinian officials still cannot get U.S. visas for the big U.N. meeting in New York, U.S. officials said Sept. 17, 2026. Washington says the Palestinian Authority and PLO have not made promised changes and hurt peace efforts by seeking statehood outside talks. Regular office staff at the Palestinian U.N. office can still enter under U.S. hosting rules.
