U.S. to Extend Visa Ban on Palestinian Officials Ahead of U.N. General Assembly

The U.S. State Department announced Sept. 17, 2026, it will extend visa denials for Palestinian Authority and PLO officials ahead of the U.N. General Assembly. It cited failure to reform and actions undermining peace, including seeking recognition outside negotiations. Regular U.N. mission staff retain a waiver under the Headquarters Agreement.
