Labor says it will bring migration numbers down

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke says immigration changes will cut net migration — like a headcount of arrivals minus departures — to 245,000 this financial year and 225,000 by 2027-28. The ABS puts it at 292,000 for the year to March. Promises are easy. Results are harder.
