Charity Founder Accused of Stealing Millions Meant for Homeless People
Federal prosecutors charged Michael Young, 46, founder of the Culver City charity Home At Last, with stealing over $7.5 million from Los Angeles County contracts meant to help homeless people. They say he used bank transfers to commit the theft and hid public money through fake businesses to pay for a nightclub, bingo hall and fancy restaurant. Arrested Sept. 16.
