Hackers Post Stolen Florida Car Records Online After State Refuses to Pay
Hackers called ShinyHunters posted hundreds of thousands of stolen records from Florida's DAVID driver and car system after the state would not pay ransom. The files include car ownership papers with names, home addresses and car serial numbers, plus a smaller group with Social Security numbers and passports. Florida's driving agency, FLHSMV, confirmed the break-in started in early September 2026.
