Why EPA Says Power Bills May Rise Before They Fall

The EPA, the agency that sets pollution rules, estimates in its own report that average U.S. power bills would be 0.7% higher in 2030 after its Sept. 14 rollback of 2024 limits on carbon pollution from power plants. Leader Lee Zeldin said the rollback would lower prices. The EPA says lower prices would come only in the mid-2030s.
