Ladbrokes Owner May Cut 400 UK Help Jobs as Betting Taxes Rise

Entain, owner of Ladbrokes and Coral, said Sept. 16 it has started consultation, formal talks before possible layoffs, on cutting 400 of its 2,000 UK customer-help jobs — one in five, like one desk in five emptied. The London-based company employs over 28,000 worldwide and says higher gambling taxes are the reason.
