National wants vote on splitting supermarkets to cut food prices
National will ask voters at the election for permission to separate Pak'nSave from New World and Four Square to bring down food prices, the party says. Foodstuffs now owns all three through two member-owned groups. That would leave three big supermarket groups: Pak'nSave, New World/Four Square, and Woolworths. National says no plan will go to ministers until after the election.
