Why Britain's Hot Summer Means More Potholes

The RAC warns of more potholes after the UK's hottest summer on record. Policy head Simon Williams said heat and sunlight dry out bitumen, the sticky glue in roads, like mud hardening and cracking in sun. It follows back-to-back heatwaves above 38C, with only half of roads in England and Wales in good condition, the Asphalt Industry Alliance said.
