Two Army Leaders on Trial After Young Soldier's Death

Two senior Army officers went on trial in a military court 15 September. Prosecutors say Colonel Samantha Shepherd and Major James Hook failed to properly act on a 2021 sexual assault report by 19-year-old soldier Jaysley Beck against a higher-ranking officer, before Beck died by suicide. Both deny wrongdoing that hurt order and discipline.
