The Letby Case: Why Babies Were Not Kept Safe

The Thirlwall Inquiry, a review, says the Countess of Chester Hospital failed at every level, like all safety nets failing, to protect babies. It says seven murders and six attempted murders between June 2015 and June 2016 could have been stopped. Its 15 September 2026 report lists 17 fixes. Whether baby wards act on them will decide if trust returns.
